Having been closed for almost six months due to an insurance problem, Sonairte, the interactive visitor centre in Laytown which promotes ecological awareness and sustainable living, opened its doors to the public again last week. You can now buy their fresh vegetable boxes; Boxes contain a mix of the organic, seasonal produce currently available from Sonairte’s garden. Just choose how much you want (€10, 15, 20, 30 etc.), contact us and your box will be waiting for you.

Best of luck to my friend Orla McKenna from Kells Road who is competing in the Corinthian Jockeys Challenge in aid of the Irish Injured Jockeys Fund. Orla will ride in 3 races over the next few months with the first one on July 22nd at The Curragh. As part of the Challenge Orla has to raise 10k and is holding a golf classic in Ashbourne Golf Club on Friday 10th August.
