Louth the place to be to win the lotto!

-

THE annual flag-day in aid of the RNLI Clogherhead Lifeboat will take place on Saurday and Sunday, 4th & 5th August in Clogherhead, Termonfechin, Sandpit, Walshestown, Dunleer and Togher.

The Flag Day collectors are all volunteers and will be out in and around the areas listed next weekend and all proceeds go directly to the RNLI to help save lives at sea.

The Clogherhead service would like to thank everyone who supports their organisation and would appreciate your backing again with the weekend’s collections in the community. EXPECT Louth’s lotto sales to hit the roof during the upcoming Fleadh because the Wee County is the luckiest place in the country to win the lottery.

The National Lottery has unveiled Ireland’s luckiest lotto counties calculating the number of jackpot winners since the game launched in 1988 against 2016 Census population records.

The “Luckiest Lotto Counties” data shows that Co. Louth boasts the most Lotto millionaires per head of population since Lotto launched three decades ago, with an incredible 76 lucky Lotto jackpot winners who have won in excess of €89 million between them; that’s 5.9 Lotto jackpot winners for every 10,000 people!

“One of the most frequent questions we are asked is what is Ireland’s luckiest Lotto county. There has always been friendly competition amongst our players all over the country to claim this title, so we are delighted to confirm that using the 2016 Census population figures, Co. Louth is Ireland’s luckiest spot,’ National Lottery CEO, Dermot Griffin said.

“But it is important to note that chance has no memory and playing Lotto is purely a matter of luck, regardless of where you buy your Lotto ticket or where you live. Whether it is in Laois, Limerick or Louth, in a shop or online on www.lottery.ie from the comfort of your own home, you have the exact same chance of winning a prize. However, our Lotto players in Louth have punched above their weight for the last 30 years with considerably more Lotto millionaires per head of population. Congratulations to the county and all its winners!” he added.

Meath has had 54 big lotto winners in 30 years.
