Greenhills girls bring old buildings to life on the North Strand

-

AFTER years of neglect, the North Strand is certainly starting to shine.

With the help of the Boomerang Café and Youth Service, as well as TY students from Greenhills, some beautiful murals have replaced dirty and broken windows.

“They have been working so hard to paint these over the past week, and we all think the results are amazing,” says Ann McVeigh from the volunteer’s group.

“Thanks go to Maia McVeigh, Caroline McEvoy, Hannah Horan and Anna Brodigan for their hard work and amazing talent, and it shows spirit of community and volunteerism is alive and well in the run up to Fleadh Cheoil in Drogheda.” The three murals depict scenes from the regions rich heritage, including the beautiful goddess Boann, the beautifully carved entrance stone at Newgrange passage tomb and an image of An Bradán Feasa.
