SEXUAL ASSAULT ACCUSED

A 58-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a female is to stand trial. A book of evidence was served on the defendant and the district court heard the DPP has consented to a send forward to Dundalk circuit criminal court on 2 October. The offence is alleged to have taken place at an address in Drogheda on 29 October last. The accused was granted legal aid for a junior and senior counsel.
