Senator Nash calls for traffic calming at lethal Slane Road

- By ALISON COMYN

Senator Ged Nash says that traffic calming measures are urgently required on the old Slane Road.

He says that pedestrians are taking their lives into their hands when crossing this heavily trafficked road, such is the level of speeding in the area.

‘ The area is home to the Oliver Plunkett’s GAA club, Boyne Hall, Boyne Lodge, the Oldbridge estate, Boyne Meadows and Tullybrook,’ explains the Labour Senator.

‘ The area is likely to becoming even busier when a further development of new homes takes place at Tullybrook over the next short period.”

He adds that now is the time to act, before someone is killed or seriously injured.

‘I have asked the Council to undertake an urgent review of this serious situation and to act to make the area safer for pedestrians and motorists alike,’ he concluded.
