I hope Sean Breen got a job for life after heroics

-

A GREAT story from almost 30 years years - a day a local man became a hero in London.

Twenty-five-year old Sean Breen, from Maple Drive came dramatically to the rescue when he pounced on a thief who staged an armed robbery at the Leeds Building Society - and was making a getaway on a public transport bus.!

The thief had £15,000 on him but he got more than he bargained for as Sean came charging out of the building society, where he was working as a trainee assistant manager and apprehended him. much to the shock of the passengers on the bus.

One of those passengers happened to be a plain clothes policeman who was on hand to take away the thief after Sean floored him.

And immediately the young Drogheda man became a realhero, not only with the company where he works, but in Britain.

‘He couldn’t believe it had all happened. No-one could really, it all happened so fast’, his proud mother Nuala said at the time.

After an incident like that, I hope Sean got a job for life at the Leeds!
