Plenty of joy for Boyne athletes at Setanta Cup
PARTICIPANTS from all over the county took part in the recent Setanta Cup in the Lourdes Stadium and there were medals aplenty for the young Boyne AC athletes.
The final day of the National Juvenile Track & Field Championships also took place recently and Boyne’s Sophie Gartland had a super run in her heat of the U-15 Girls 200m race, finishing second to qualify for the final where a strong run saw her finish fifth overall. Neil Culhane ran well in the U-14 boys 1500m.
The inaugural running of the Alanna 6k in Navan recently saw a huge turnout in memory of Alanna Russell, a young lady who passed away in December last year and who was fondly remembered by many a runner.
Some of Boyne’s senior ladies took part, with super runs from Judith McGuinness Faulkner, Annemarie Garcia, Jillian Connor, Nicola Finnegan and Edel NiGhabhann.
