Aura works to begin

-

COUNCILLOR Paul Bell has announced that Louth County Council has confirmed that the Aura Leisure Centre located on Marley’s Lane will see a major refurbishment investment commencing later in the year and into 2019.

“Council formally responded to my question submitted for the monthly meeting of Drogheda Borough Municipal Council following my many representations concerning the deteriorating condition of the facility. Council confirmed that a tender was issued seeking an “Architectural Design Team” to specify and oversee the total restoration of the popular facility,’ said Bell.

“The refurbishment will not only centre on the changing rooms. But will also focus upgrading all facilities for citizens with disabilities. While I am very disappointed that he facility was allowed to deteriorate to a condition which forced many members of the public not to renew their membership. I am satisfied that the much used leisure centre will be refurbished to the standard as originally designed.’
