New lift for the train station

A new lift is to be installed at Drogheda railway station after being out of action since January.

The lift system requires complete replacement and works will start in early September.

Fergus O’Dowd TD has welcomed the news. ‘ This has been an unacceptable length of time for persons with disabilities to be left with limited access. I’m delighted this will now be rectified and a long term solution put in place.’

In the interim, Irish Rail are operating as many services as possible through the main station platform to ensure access. They can arrange for specific services and also if customers contact Drogheda Station at 041-9838749 in advance of travel.
