THE MacBride Doubles Matchplay quarter-finals took place last Wednesday evening, with some great pitch and putt played in dry conditions but with a tricky wind. There were some very close matches and results were as follows:

Match 1: Greg Hoey and Andrew Meegan won 7and6 over Anthony Kelly and John Donnelly; Match 2: Alan Cluskey and Paddy Murray finished 2and1 in their match against Tommy Dyas and Adam McKenna; Match 3: Mark Donnelly and Joe Reilly were all square with opponents Pádraic Sarsfield and Patricia Reilly after 36 holes, but Mark and Joe who took victory on the 38th hole; Match 4: Keith Smyth and Liam Flood finished 1up on Damien Mullaney and Darren Dooley. Well done to all those who played, congratula­tions to the winning teams and best of luck for the semi-final matches, which will take place this Wednesday at 6.30pm.

Last Tuesday’s club lotto numbers were 2, 6, 9 and 17. The lucky dip winners were Kieran McDonnell, Alan Andrews and Mavis and Peter and the next draw will take place on Tuesday August 14th when the jackpot will be €3,450.

MacBride would like to wish good luck to our club members and their teammates competing in the Leinster Inter-County Championsh­ips this coming weekend.

THERE will be no competitio­n in Seapoint this weekend due to Laytown hosting their Open Scotch Foursomes. It will start on Thursday and run until Sunday. However, there will be a Juvenile competitio­n in Seapoint today (Tuesday) at 11am.

Please check the noticeboar­d for entry sheets. The quarter-finals of the Club Doubles Matchplay must be completed by Sunday.

On August 25th and 26th Seapoint Pitch and Putt will proudly host the Irish Life PPUI Irish Internatio­nal Pitch and Putt Open.
