Great night promised for Duleek FC

THERE promises to be a great night in the Westcourt Hotel on Saturday August 25th when Duleek AFC mark 50 years.

Tickets are €25 and its a champagne reception with a hot and cold buffet, awards, live act, raffle and DJ Groggy Mac.

Ticket price includes entry into a draw for a trip for two to a premier league game.

The club has enjoyed a great history and of course, had an excellent girls team at one stage. Back in 1975, they were part of the annual Duleek seven-aside league. There were 10 teams, Whitecross A and B.. Villas Turnpike, Lougher, Kentstown, Donore. Bellewstown, Kellystown and Cement (Platin). Noel Heeney was secretary.

5k road race

Registration is now open for Rathkenny AC’s 5K road race and fun run which takes place on Friday, August 17th, at 7.30pm. This is a AAI approved chipped timed event on country roads around Tankardstown House and Rathkenny. €15 online entry (plus booking fee) for chipped runners, €20 to register on the evening (over 16s only), walkers €10, juveniles €5. Register on the evening between 5.30pm - 7pm.
