£10m holiday and golf course plan for Oldbridge

January 1994

-

THE international consortium behind the £10 million holiday and golfing complex plan at Oldbridge has scrapped the project - and the 570-acre estate will now be offered for sale on the European market.

The selling agents, Keane Mahony Smith, are not quoting a price at this stage but the owners will obviously hope to recover the £2 million-plus involved in purchasing the estate and gaining the planning permission.

The former owner of Oldbridge, Jack Marry, is a member of the four member consortium which had planned to develop the estate, which is on the site of the Battle of the Boyne.

A spokesman for the consortium said that it was always its intention to put the estate back on the market once planning permission had been secured. The consortium believed the time was now right to sell it on to a developer who had the experience to build and operate it.
