The dump contained an assortment of material including, paint tins, car parts and a picture containing the artists identity. Reported to Meath Co. Council on the Litter Lo-Call line and to the Environment Section, the dump was investigated by the Council’s Litter Warden and was subsequently removed. Thanks to Meath Co. Council for the swift action once again.

ANTI-SOCIAL CRIME SOARS

Statistics relating to anti-social crime as revealed in the Sunday Independent of 29th July 2018, are a major cause for concern. Ten crime categories related to anti-social behaviour grew nationwide in the past year. “Robbery from the person” which involves intimidation or force increased by 5.3%. Worryingly, the first three months of 2018 saw a further 17.6% increase in this offence when compared to the same quarter last year.

The evidence is there. So the burning question is, what is going to be done about this rise in crime, and crime in general? If there is any Community Member who could benefit from a Personal Socially Monitored Alarm, then please contact any Committee Member who will set the process in train.
