Our Open Scotch Foursomes starts this Thursday 9th August and continues each day until Sunday 12th August. Prizes for Ladies, Gents and Mixed. Refreshmen­ts will be available every day. The car park will be patrolled at all times and secure.

FLEADH

Drogheda will be the centre of attention for the next ten days with the Fleadh starting this Sunday 12th August and continuing until Sunday 19th August. We sincerely hope it will be a great success.

SONAIRTE

You can now buy fresh vegetable boxes at the centre; boxes contain a mix of the organic, seasonal produce currently available from Sonairte’s garden. Just choose how much you want (€10, 15, 20, 30 etc.), contact us and your box will be waiting for you.

EAST MEATH BRIDGE CLUB

Summer Charity bridge continues in Laytown & Bettystown golf club every Tuesday evening a 7.30p.m. Everyone welcome.

LOURDES PILGRIMAGE

BOOK LAUNCH - LAYTOWN STRAND RACES, CELEBRATIN­G 150 YEARS

Beach racing at Laytown takes place on Thursday 6th September this year and marks 150 years of racing on Laytown Strand. To get the celebratio­ns going, the race committee is launching a commemorat­ive book called Laytown Strand Races, celebratin­g 150 years, in The Glenside Hotel on 14th August at 7.30. Trainer Ted Walsh will launch the book, all are welcome. Compiled by racing enthusiast John Kirwan and historian Fiona Ahern, who also produced 300 Years of Racing at Bellewstow­n in 2013, this book is packed with interviews, anecdotes, recollecti­ons, reminiscen­ces and historical facts about Laytown Races.
