Farewell mass for Fr Maciej Zacharek

A farewell mass will be held for Fr Maciej Zacharek CC (right) at the start of September as the popular parish priest departs St Peter’s Parish for Dundalk.

Fr Maciej has been reassigned to St Patrick’s by Archbishop Eamon Martin, with all of the local parishioners sorry to see him leave and wishing him every blessing on his new appointment.

The farewell mass has been arranged for Saturday September 1st at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The mass will be followed by refreshments.

Father Maciej was ordained by Cardinal Sean Brady in 2014 and was previously assigned to the Holy Redeemer Parish in Dundalk.

Originally from Wygoda, Poland, he began his formation to the priesthood in Washington D.C before moving to Co. Louth. He was done lots of work in ministering to the Polish community in the county.
