Death not suspicious
THE death of a woman in Aston Village is not being treated as suspicious.
Shortly after 5am on Sunday morning, Emergency Services and Gardaí were called to a house in the Aston Village area of Drogheda.
A woman aged in her 60s was pronounced dead in the house a short time later. Her body remained at the scene and it was preserved as the office of the State Pathologist was notified. Deputy State Pathologist Michael Curtis attended the scene
The initial cause of death was unclear and a post-mortem examination took place in the afternoon at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
Gardaí later said that the death was not being treated as suspicious.
