Council plan to keep Laytown toilets

MEATH CC will not be disposing of the toilets in Laytown until they see ‘ the bigger picture’ unfolding in the area.

The recent area council meeting heard that interest had come in from someone hoping to secure them.

‘ There is interest in it’, Director of Services Fiona Lawless stated.

But she said she was keen to keep it under council control.

‘If we decided to do anything with it’, we’d put it in public display and talk about it’, she told councillors.

She revealed a llot was coming up in the area, including the spine road and a traffic management plan for the Laytown and Bettystown area.

‘ We will not be disposing of the toilets until we see the bigger picture. We can’t give it to one individual.’
