Fr Joe is on his way to Mullingar

I will be sorry to see Fr Joe Campbell depart St Mary’s parish in the coming weeks.

It’s hard to believe that Joe has been in Drogheda for eight years now, but he’s on his way to Mullingar, becoming a curate there and also acting as secretary to Bishop elect Tom Deenham.

Many great words have been spoken about Fr Joe since the news broke last week and he will be sadly missed by everyone.

Fr Joe did a lot of great work in the schools in the district and endeared himself to young and old around the area.

I expect his going away function will be a great one and a real tribute to his work.
