Fr Curtis and the Duke of Wellington - and the link to St Peter’s Church

WELL done to the council and whoever else for the superb way in which the town has been promoted - tourist friendly wise - for the Fleadh.

The information signs dotted around the place look fantastic.

I was very taken with the one at St Peter’s Church and a large image at its heart of the Duke of Wellington.

Archbishop Patrick Curtis, who is buried in the church, was based in Spain and was a spymaster for the Duke during the Peninsula War.
