Little at stake as Saints prevail
ST MOCHTAS GLYDE RANGERS 1-17 1-7
IN a game that had little at stake other than local bragging rights it was St Mochtas who picked up both points from this encounter at Tallanstown on Friday night.
Neither side were involved in either the relegation for promotion battle ahead of this encounter and this was reflected in the fact that both managers made a number of changes ahead of throw-in as their focus remains very much on the championship.
It was the Louth Village side who had the better of things from the opening whistle and a goal from Gareth O’Reilly helped them to lead by 1-9 to 0-4 at the break.
The home side never looked capable of bridging that gap and it was the Mochtas who continued to dominate with Declan Byrne, Stephen McCooey and Eamon O’Neill among the points.
Glyde did manage a consolation goal through Dion Conlon but the visitors ran out comfortable winners.
