Naps win in vain

DESPITE completing their league campaign with a comprehensive victory over neighbours Dowdallshill, Na Piarsaigh were pipped to the title by Young Irelands.
Unfortunately for the Naps there was no shock in Courtbane as Young Irelands emerged comfortable winners and they must settle for a place in the play-offs.
The game in St Brigid’s Park saw the visitors dominate from the opening whistle and goals from Alan McCartney, Ciaran Murphy, Conall Shields and Eamonn McAuley had them leading by 4-9 to no score at the break.
Stephen Arrowsmith and Ciaran Murphy added goals in the second half as their side continued to dominate, while Dowdallshill did grab a consolation goal through Gerry McShane.

JOHN MITCHELS STABANNON PARNELLS 2-11 1-12
JOHN Mitchels rounded off their league season on a winning note on Sunday evening as they returned home from Stabannon with a two-point victory.
Barry Kirk and Stephen Coyle scored the all-important goals as the Ballybaillie side recorded their fifth win of the campaign.
