THE Genoa Cafe on Shop Street became a Fleadh sensation after it was declared to have the best chips in the world!
Crowds flocked to the venue after Fleadh TV superstar Hector Ó hEochagáin ordered his bag of Lucia’s best - with plenty of vinegar - and went on to post the image on social media.
It went worldwide and even attracted interest from Australia, with ex pats from the area saying how much they missed the place and the Genoa chips!
The popular premises also got a visit from another musician, singer Declan O’Rourke who said he had to sample them too!
