Aware programme starts in the d Hotel

REGISTRATI­ON is now open for a new Relatives and Friends programme coming to Drogheda, being held by Aware, Ireland’s depression and bipolar support organisati­on.

The four week programme, aimed at equipping people with the tools to support a loved one experienci­ng depression or bipolar disorder, will come to The D Hotel, starting on Tuesday September 4th.

Online registrati­on for the programme is now open at www.aware.ie and places are available to anyone over 18. Anyone interested in attending are encouraged to book quickly as places are limited.

The programme is free to attend, with a refundable €30 booking deposit required. Reduced booking fees are available for students, the unemployed, OAPs or anyone with a medical card.

The programme will deliver four 90-minute modules over the four weeks and will provide helpful informatio­n and practical advice as well as addressing the challenges faced each day when supporting a loved one experienci­ng depression or bipolar disorder.

Droichead events

THE Droichead Arts Centre Theatre Club is back, and they have a fantastic programme coming up this Autumn Season.

Kicking off is Roddy Doyle’s ‘achingly, breathtaki­ngly funny’ two-hander Two Pints, presented by The Abbey Theatre, which will be performed offsite at The Living Room, Sarsfields Bar.

Pat Kinevane and Fishamble are back due to popular demand, and this time they are bringing their first ever trilogy of plays, Forgotten, Silent & Underneath, written and performed by the Olivier Award winning Pat Kinevane. Pat is one of Ireland’s finest acting talents and has achieved internatio­nal acclaim with his trio of tourde-force solo plays. His performanc­e of each play over three consecutiv­e nights in Droichead is sure to be something special.

And finally, but by no means least they have the acclaimed ‘What Good is Looking Well When You’re Rotten On The Inside’ by Emma O’Grady.
