Gerry is Song Searching with his new EP album

-

SONG Searching, the brand new debut EP from local musician Gerry Hodgers was launched in front of an enthusiastic crowd at Odd Mollies in Drogheda

Mixed and mastered in Abbey Lane studios, the five-track record features a host of musicians joining singer-songwriter Gerry and they were also on hand for a lively and uplifting night of music at the Peter Street venue.

Gerry, who runs the renowned Purple Sessions gigs in Boyle’s in Slane, always wanted to play music saying that simply listening was not enough for him and only in more recent years has started writing and performing his own compositions.

“I only started writing very late in life as I became more reflective I suppose, but then it’s never too late to start,” he remarked.

“What’s the point in writing material if you are not going to bring it out in public and let others decide if they “get you””.

The Purple Sessions have also become a staple of the Irish Maritime Festival held at Drogheda Port in recent years.

Everyone who came received a copy of Gerry’s first CD and if the performance on the night was anything to go by, it will be on repeat on stereos for a long time to come.
