The Drogheda Fleadh just blew everyone away

WE have been saying it for years. Drogheda is perfectly placed on this island for every kind of event, business, investment, whatever you want.

Last week, we got the chance to showcase the town in all its glory and every sector rose to the task.

Many of the people who came to Drogheda last week from around the world were amazed by the place.

The wide main street took thousands upon thousands, Shop Street, Laurence’s Street, Peter Street, Bolton Square, the quays, the place was buzzing.

What also impressed people who were involved in the week long ‘schools’ on the Ballymakenny Road were the standards of the campus, with Ballymakenny College deemed ‘incredible’ by more than one.

The coming weeks and months will see the plans for 2019 being finalised.

And one thing is certain - expect dance and music schools to get a major boost in numbers over the winter.
