DULEEK SENIOR CITIZENS OUTINGS COMMITTEE

Duleek Senior Citizens Outings Committee are holding their Annual Summer Outing on Sunday 2nd September. he bus will leave from the village green at 1pm sharp, followed by a short tour and then a 4 course meal with dancing and plenty of craic before heading back to Duleek at 6.30pm approx. I would ask all our seniors who are travelling with us to please be on time so we can keep to our time table. Looking forward to seeing all our old friends and hopefully some new ones. The Committee would like to thank all the walkers and sponsors who supported our recent walk. The day was not great but we stayed dry. We can’t thank you enough for your support. All funds go towards our Summer Outing. The Fundraisin­g Auctions will take place on the first 2 Sunday of October. Anyone wishing to donate can contact any of the two Paddy’s, Anita or Alana to make arrangemen­ts.

EAST MEATH HOSPICE ASSOCIATIO­N

East Meath Hospice associatio­n will be hosting National Coffee Morning to Hospice on Thursday September 20th, This National event is sponsored by Bewleys and all money raised will go provide services for people with a diagnosis of cancer Volunteer drivers provide door to door transport to Hospital appointmen­ts, and comfort fund is available to provide equipment as needed. Venues for coffee mornings are Whytes Stamullen, Bellewstow­n Community Centre, Limekiln Julianstow­n, and New Venue this year Neptune Hotel Bettystown.

DULEEK FORÓIGE SEEKING ADULT LEADERS

In Duleek Foróige, volunteer leaders work with young people (10-18 years), to encourage them to be part of shaping the world around them while developing their talents, skills and abilities. Adult leaders make it possible for young people to socialise safely, try new things, develop their confidence and self reliance, get involved in the community and have lots of fun. Duleek Foróige meet each Friday from 6-8:15pm (September-June). HERITAGE WEEK

Heritage week takes place on Saturday 18th to– Sunday 26th August. Duleek Heritage invite you to the following; Wednesday 22nd August – showing of ‘River Nanny, from Source to Sea’ at 8pm in The Prayer Rooms. Refreshmen­ts afterwards, come and share your memories of the “Nanny”! Sunday 26th August – Historic walking tour of the village, starting at 12.15pm from The Courthouse.

DULEEK LIBRARY

Duleek Library summery programme is continuing in August with the following events:

Children’s Summer Reading Scheme – Summer Stars; for children aged 6 to 12, join the summer reading challenge at your local library and receive a free reader card, a sticker and a bookmark. Read 8 books and get entered in to a draw for a Kindle Fire Tablet. Paddington Dogs Trust how to be a good dog owner; takes place Monday 27th of August at 11am for ages 7+. Please contact the library to put your childs name down to attend any of the above workshops

FAMILY FUN DAY

Duleek Bellewstow­n Family Fun day and Moo Poo 2018 takes place on Saturday 1st of September from 12noon at the GAA grounds, Duleek. The day will include a number of sporting activities for all the family, Legends League finals, plenty of entertainm­ent and BBQ. All proceeds in aid of underage player developmen­t at Duleek Bellewstow­n GFC. FREE admission. Everyone welcome.
