Laytown races on marks!

THE 150th running of the Laytown Strand Races takes place on Thursday September 6th and promises to be an incredible afternoon.

The historic meeting on the beach has also been recognised in book form with a new publication by John Kirwan and Fiona Ahern detailing the races over the past two centuries.

The launch last week proved a great success and the books are available from Paul Kerbey 0876484804, Kevin Coleman, 0876860639, 9823614, 9842111.

They will also be available at the races on the 6th as well as at the Bellewstown Races this week.

They can also be purchased at Boshills of Laytown and Bettystown and the local golf club. Jim Corcoran in Dyer Street also has them.

The book is a true racing classic and a must have for anyone with an interest in the sport of kings.
