A song about Drogheda is proving a hit for Armagh men Pat McGeeney and Tony O’Callaghan.

‘Drogheda, you are in my DNA’ was performed for the first time at the recent Fleadh Cheoil to great acclaim.

‘We heard Mayor Frank Godfrey was looking for a Drogheda song for the Fleadh and we came up with this,’ Pat - also known as the ‘ Bard of Armagh’ - stated.

‘ There is massive interest in it and we have had people from America and Canada on looking for copies of it. We wrote it as a Drogheda anthem,’ Pat explained.

It is not on CD as yet but we are looking forward to 2019 and the Fleadh again.’

Father of Armagh GAA legend, Kieran, Pat says they would love to record it at some stage.

Mayor Godfrey says the song is a wonderful piece about the town.
