THE jackpot in our lotto is up to €14,000. This week’s draw takes place tonight o’clock at 9 o’clock in the clubrooms, and anyone wishing to take part can purchase a ticket from any committee member or Grant’s Newsagents, Dublin Street. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Last week’s numbers were, 9, 19, 20, 30. Two match-3 winners, Patricia Clarke and Killian and Conaill Rooney.

Our minor footballer­s put up a fine performanc­e in last Wednesday evening’s championsh­ip match with St Patrick’s at Lordship, and at the end of a very exciting match were behind by just one point. We play Kilkerley Emmets-Naomh Malachi in their next preliminar­y match tomorrow night (see fixture list in this issue for details).

It’s getting close to our walk over the Cooley Mountains. It takes place on Saturday week next, September 8, and anyone with sponsorshi­p cards is asked to get them back to the organisers as soon as possible.

The walk takes off from The Lumpers, Ravensdale, at 1.30pm, and covers approximat­ely 10km. Refreshmen­ts for children will be provided in The Lumpers, and there’ll be a get-together later in the evening in Kennedy’s, Carrick Road.

AFTER going down to Hunterstow­n by a point in Darver last week, Glen Emmets meet Lannleire in Cusack Park on Saturday in the Division 2 relegation play-off at 6.30pm. Come out and show your support.

In the U-18 B Championsh­ip Group 2 Glen Emmets play Na Piarsaigh/Sean O’Mahony’s/ Dowdallshi­ll at 7.30pm tomorrow (Wednesday) in Cusack Park, Tullyallen. All support is welcome.

Huge congratula­tions to Aoife Russell and her Louth Ladies teammates and management, including Brigid Russell, who beat Derry on Sunday in the All-Ireland Junior semi-final. They now play Limerick ladies in the final in Croke Park on September 16th. Come out and cheer them on in the final!

THE senior team lost to O’Raghallaig­hs 1-21 to 1- 20 AET, in the championsh­ip relegation play off and now play Geraldines for survival. Scorers: Shane Lennon 0-9, Tadgh McEneaney 0-4, James Fegan 1-1,Daniel McKeown 0-2, Sean Hand, Conal McEneaney, Ciaran McGlynn, Andy McGuill 0-1 each. They play this Saturday, September 1, at 6.30pm at home game against Hunterstow­n in the league promotion play-off.

The juniors lost in the championsh­ip away to Dreadnots 1-15 to 1-3.

The U13 team beat St Fechins 4-3 to 2-3 play this Thursday August 30, away to St Josephs at 7.00pm.

The minors beat Dreadnots in the championsh­ip 1-22 to 4-9. They play this Wednesday away to Gaels at 7.30pm.

The U16 Girls team won at home in the championsh­ip 3-10 to 0-7 against Glen Emmets and this Wednesday are away to Stabannon at 7.00pm and on Wednesday, September 5 are away to Blues at 6.45pm.

The U12 Girls won at home in the championsh­ip 3-7 to 1-0 against Roche Emmets and are away to Stabannon at 7.00pm this Thursday and Thursday September 6 are away to Tones at 7.45pm.

On Monday of this week the U14 girls were away to Geraldines in the championsh­ip having drawn their last match 3-9 to 4-6 against Glen Emmets.

On Monday September 3 at 6.45pm they are away to St Kevins.

Goalkeepin­g coach Craig Lynch has kindly agreed to come to Kilkerley to give a goalkeepin­g workshop for all juvenile goalkeeper­s and players who might be interested in goalkeepin­g. Mentors can also attend to learn about drills and warm up methods specific to goalkeeper­s. The workshop takes place this Friday, August 31, at 7.00pm. Forward names of those attending without delay to the juvenile secretary.

KNOCKBRIDG­E

UNDERAGE training continues this Friday at 5.30 p.m. in the Brides field. New members always welcome.

OUR senior hurlers have qualified for the championsh­ip final with a 3-15 to 3-13 win over Naomh Moninne. Despite a below par display our lads did just enough to get over the line.

Our U12s were also in action against the same oposition but lost out on a 4-5 to 2-1 scoreline. We played well but lost out to stronger opponents in the key positions.

Last Friday our U8 hurlers took part in a very enjoyable blitz in thr DkIT.

This Tuesday our U13’s play their final game in the Louth league.
