Mulroy and Sheehan are stars

OUR Lady’s College, Greenhills, Drogheda, qualified for the finals of the S.S.A. basketball league with an emphatic 5 point victory over astrong Glasnevin team in the semi-finals. The Greenhills girls were able to penetrate without too much difficulty.

The Drogheda girls scored the opening baskets which kept their spirits up throughout the match. Greenhills were always in control of the game but took the back seat in the second half.

Orla Collins and Jane McGahon worked well together pulling down both offensive and defensive rebounds.

M Fay proved worthy in her position at point guard giving in some nice passes.

Glasnevin girls Fiona Calbert, Gillian Lloyd and Nicola Cranly tried to fight back but the two guards Anne-Marie Sheehan and Christine Mulroy played great defense stopping all their shots after this well deserved victory Greenhills go on to play Templeogue in the finals on Sunday next.
