Playground plan for the northside

SENATOR Ged Nash (pictured) has announced that a campaign is underway to secure a playground for the north side of Drogheda.

He explained, “A playground for the north side of Drogheda is badly needed.

“Over the last few weeks Cllr. Pio Smith and I have been working with a small group of local parents on this potential project.

“We are currently engaging with funding bodies, the local authority and other community interests to scope the project out.

“The playground project is at an early stage and in a few weeks time, the nascent group plans to hold a public meeting to inform local people about the initiative and to invite people to participate in the group and get involved in the campaign.

“The playground facility at St Dominic’s Park has been a great success and we believe it is high time that a similar play area is developed on the north side of the town for the benefit and enjoyment of local children and families.”
