Peter calls for local politicians to resign and hold by-election
AN advocate of Drogheda becoming a city for many years, local businessman Peter Monahan said the many problems endured by the town, such as the economic and psychological effect of the toll, has been under the watch of our politicians.
“If you have a strong political base in an area, things happen. I you don’t, they don’t, and the question is why has everything that makes a town been taken from us,” he asked.
“It’s been the failure of local politics and each one of the local politicians should resign and have a by-election where they stand for City Status.”
