Fitzpatrick’s reopens
Award winning bar and restaurant Fitzpatrick’s opened its doors once again on Thursday evening last.
Fitzpatrick’s sudden closure at the end of May stunned patrons, and the wider community in north Louth when it was announced via a Facebook post.
The pub and restaurant had been run by Danny and Dympna Fitzpatrick since 1993.
They had announced that the Bank of Ireland ordered the closure despite their ‘ best efforts to resolve the matter.’
It was put on the market with an asking price of €1.5m. Estate agent Sherry Fitzgerald Carroll listed the property and described it as ‘one of the north east’s finest and best known establishments.’
It is understood the business was eventually sold for just over €2 million. The popular Rockmarshall venue was bought over by new owners, the JDM Group run by businessman Jim Conlon.
