FREE SOCIAL EVENING.

All at Drumshallon Forge hope you can make it to the FREE social evening there on Sat Sept 8th at 8.30pm. As well as music from members of the Chapel Street Band from Slane ,there will be a bit of Ceili dancing and some party pieces. It should be a good night rounded off with refreshments. Sounds like the perfect antidote for those of us still suffering from a metametaphorical hangover from The Fleagh.

THE 20K DROP.

When I tell you that The Mairtins are staging a 20k drop on Friday, September 28th, you’ve not being asked to go up a big mountain, just for someone to push you off it. No, it’s a huge fundraiser and a take from the TV programme, £1000,000 drop.

The show seems like a real entertainer and the club is still looking for sponsors, by way of advertisers. Further info can be obtained by contacting the organising committee or by visiting the €20 Drop website on www.

DON’T BE PRICKLY TO OUR HEDHOGS.

Recently, 21 hedgehogs, from a summer of rehabilitation, were released in the Ferney Park area.

Wildlife continues to get a hammering from us, due to direct persecution, habitat loss, being killed on roads, poisoning (directly or indirectly) etc.

If we just give a little empathy and consideration we could all play a part in making their life a little easier and.... a lot longer.

If you come across any injured wild animal or in need of help please contact Nicola Carroll 0866076420.
