County Manager seeks to increase pay parking charges
A ‘substantial increase’ in pay parking charges is on the cards, according to Louth County Council CEO Joan Martin.
Speaking at Monday’s meeting of Louth County Council, Ms. Martin said it was ‘ highly likely’ that significant increases in pay parking will be included in the budget for 2019.
At the same meeting, Councillors had voted down a call by the CEO for a 15% increase in Local Property Tax (LPT) in the coming year.
It is to remain the same as this year. Ms. Martin told councillors that the local authority ‘absolutely needed €1.5 million’ to maintain the level of services being provided.
She said that around €1million was needed to meet the loans on lands the councils owns.
