Tusla go on road to promote work

-

TUSLA Child and Family Agency has launched its first ever national promotional drive to highlight the range of services it provides as part of its Prevention, Partnership and Family Support(PPFS) programme.

Tusla National Child and Family Support Week will feature special public events across Louth and Meath and will be backed up by a national and regional advertising campaign across media platforms.

There are now almost 863,000 families with children in Ireland and some 1.68 million children in families in Ireland, according to Census 2016. Tusla provides extensive support services to assist all parents, children, and young people as part of its PPFS programme. This programme aims to stop problems experienced by families from getting worse, or from developing into a crisis.

From September 17th – 23rd, team members across Louth and Meath will be running information stands at a number of locations around the two counties including The Marshes Shopping Centre Dundalk (Mon 17th 10.00am -4.30pm), Scotch Hall Shopping Centre, Drogheda ( Wed 19th 1.00-5.00pm) and Navan Shopping Centre (Thurs 20th 10.00am – 4.30pm).

These aim to inform any members of the public interested in learning more about Tusla-run family support services in their area. An array of leaflets will be available and one of the team will be on hand for a friendly face to face chat.

Also, keep an eye out for display stands in your local library for the duration of the week.

Sandra Stafford of Tusla Louth/Meath welcomed the opportunity to raise awareness of the work of Tusla PPFS across Louth and Meath as part of Tusla National Child and Family Support Week.

She said: “During the week there will be events to showcase what is on offer to parents, children and young people in their local area. Promoting Meitheal, the Tusla-led early intervention national practice model, is key along with the www.parenting 24seven.ie website.

‘We want families to know where to go to access help and support .We will be on hand in local shopping centres and services during the week. We invite families to our stands to speak with us, take leaflets and give feedback.”
