-

A 46-year-old man who pleaded guilty to two unlawful possession of drugs charges, has had his case adjourned for a probation report.

Derek Rodgers, Hawthorn Court, Drogheda, had €200-worth of heroin and €50-worth of cannabis at his home address on 13 November, 2017.

Barrister Irene Sands said her client is on a methadone programme and is making steps in the right direction, but it is a difficult matter to overcome.

He is in receipt of social welfare.

The judge put the matter back to 23 November to see if Rodgers is suitable for the drugs court.
