Public asked to take part in beach plan
NOW is the time for the public to have their say on the Beach Management Plan for Bettystown.
The revised plan and Natura Impact Statement will be on public display until Friday 12th October and the documents are available to download free of charge from www.meath.ie or on request by contacting Meath County Council Environment Section at environment@meathcoco.ie or 046-9097222.
“I regularly receive comments and correspondence from many members of our community in relation to beach matters, so now is the time to have your voice heard on how the beach should be managed, ‘ Cllr Sharon Tolan (right) stated this week.
‘ This is the second time and final time this Draft Plan will go on Public Display, so I am encouraging all members of the public to get involved this time, and not to regret it later after it’s already adopted. Items that will concern and/or interest many members of the public, are the recommendations from the Natura Impact Statement, in relation to dog walking and horse control. I would really encourage people to have a quick read, it’s certainly not a huge document, and put a few lines together if you have any concerns or suggestions of your own.
‘I am delighted to say that Meath County Council also plan to appoint the Architect for the Civic Building Project at the Bettystown entrance by mid October. These works will make a massive difference to the town, and are only one part of a larger Public Realm Plan that is currently being drafted.’
All submissions must be made on or before the closing date of 12th October 2018, and must contain name, address and contact details of person/s making the submission – both telephone and email address if possible. If you have any queries, please contact Environment Section, Meath County Council at environment@ meathcoco.ie or 046-9097222.
