CONGRATS and very well done to young clubman John Brady who managed to defeat all contenders in our juvenile top ace score competitio­n with a fine top score of 12 aces, any club players wishing to enter the top ace competitio­n should please give their names to Niall Farrell.

Our juvenile under 9s ‘ fundamenta­l handball’ skills tournament for boys and girls will now start on Friday 28th September. Players will be tested on an array of skills and we would like to wish all juveniles the very best of luck.

The club are delighted to hear that clubman John Kelly was appointed by GAA handball CCC to officiate the men’s senior 60x30 softball singles semi-final match between E Kennedy from Dublin and G Mc Connell from Meath at Croke Park handball centre last Saturday.

Club players and supporters wishing to go to the All-Ireland 60x30 softball singles finals at coke park on Saturday 29th September should contact our club secretary asap to book their tickets please.

Our juvenile coaching at Gormanston college sports complex continues every Wednesday night transport departs from the pheasant car park at 6pm. Coaching continues as usual for boys and girls every Friday night 6.30pm to 7.30pm at coke hall.

WELL done to the senior men’s team who will play the Dreadnots in the championsh­ip semi-final.

A huge thanks to all those who came down the field on Saturday morning for our final nursery training sessions, and also huge thanks to our coaches who give up so much of their time throughout the whole year.

O RAGHALLAIG­H’S

THIS Friday our U-16s play against Cooley Kickhams in Darver in the U-16 A Championsh­ip semi-final. Throw-in is at 8.30pm.

On Thursday our U-15 team face off against Mattock Rangers / Hunterstow­n Rovers away from home. Throw in is at 6.30pm.

Our U-13s play Dreadnots away from home on Thursday at 6.30pm.

Congratula­tions to the O Raghallaig­h’s/Oliver Plunkett’s ladies team on being crowned winners of the Louth Junior Championsh­ip.

The O Raghallaig­h’s had the pleasure of hosting the last Under-7 Regional Blitz of the season, with teams from Mattock Rangers, Naomh Malachi and John Mitchel’s attending.

Our young team did our club proud, with each player demonstrat­ing great passion, teamwork and individual skill from the very first whistle to the very last. A huge thank-you to the families of all our players for their support.

Training for the Under-7s continues, weather permitting, until the end of September.

The O Raghallaig­h’s Academy finished up training last Saturday week and there was a fantastic turnout, with fun, games and treats galore. Big thank you to the parents who brought our young gaels to training each week.

Well done to the academy players who all made great progress throughout the season, and a big shout-out to our academy coaches who gave up their time every Saturday.

Numbers drawn in the club lotto last week were 5, 9, 11 & 14 and the lucky dip winners were Lily Byrne, June Morgan, Damien Boyle and Jenny Rogan. The previous week’s winners were Paddy Carr, June Morgan, Ciaran Brassi l and Davan Finnegan. The jackpot now stands at €11,250.

Our clubhouse bar is now hosting a weekly bingo night on Tuesdays, kicking off at 9.30pm. Make sure to come along.

Congratula­tions to our U-16 team who narrowly beat the Plunkett’s in the league final on Saturday. This is only the start for this group of lads.

Numbers drawn in last Tuesday’s lotto were 2, 10, 15, 22 and there was one match-three winner of €150, Patsy Rice from Ballsgrove. The jackpot for this week’s draw is €2,720.

Our U-16s/Minors training continues on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and our Nursery - up to U-12s - train in the field from 6.30 this Wednesday evening. This will be the last training session for the year, so let’s get everyone up and finish strong.

THERE was no winner of the lotto jackpot of €5,000 when the draw took place in the complex on Thursday the 13th of September last. The numbers drawn were 4, 8, 17 and 22. THE Sean O’Mahony’s Senior team were very unlucky to exit the Louth Senior championsh­ip by the narrowest of margins to the Pats, in a tense encounter on Sunday evening on Ecco Road.

On Thursday night in Clogherhea­d Junior Team got through to the Junior 2B Championsh­ip final,in the end by the skin of their teeth in a game which they had dominated throughout but only led by a single point at the final whistle. Team and scorers: Liam Clarke, Robbie Galligan, Alan Waters, David Durin, Kevin Quinn, Colm Finan, Robbie Clarke, David Crawlwy, Sean Murphy 0-1, Brendan Traynor 0-6(1 free), Niall McLoughlin 0-1, Gary Mulligan 0-2, Eoin Hanratty, Liam Byrne 1-0, David Dowling 0-1. The club held a very successful Open Air Movie night, last Saturday week on the Point Road, featuring the iconic movie Dirty Dancing. Despite the rainfall that fell during the afternoon, which cleared just before the DJ commenced, a good crowd still showed up and enjoyed a very enjoyable night. There was a fantastic party atmosphere among those seated on the pitch, with the highlight for many being the surprise fireworks display at the end of the movie. Well done to all who worked so hard to bring it all together on the night.
