Drogheda gets gold again for tidy towns efforts

THE continued efforts of Drogheda Tidy Towns and Louth County Council has again been rewarded with the presentati­on of a Gold Medal to the town in the yearly competitio­n.

The announceme­nt was made in the Helix on Monday, much to the delight of the local group.

Drogheda has struck gold for the past few years and this year amassed 323 points.

Speaking at the Drogheda Looking Good awards in the d hotel last week, the TT chairman, Cllr Kevin Callan praised all those who keep their estates looking superb all year round.

Tullyallen also topped the 300 mark at the Tidy Towns announceme­nt, scoring 301.

Collon had 292, Annagassan 290, Baltray 251, Monasterbo­ice 255, Dunleer 307, Termonfeck­in 255 and Ardee 324. The mid Louth town also secured a Gold Medal as a result.
