Street sweeping should be every week in Bettystown
THERE have been calls for the county council to sweep the streets of Bettystown on a more regular basis.
During the summer, the streets were tackled every week, but that has now returned to twice a month.
Cllr Sharon Tolan had made the request.
She was told by engineer Christy Clarke that a trial weekly clean up was done during the summer but there was a cost involved in doing it all the time.
Cllr Tolan said drains were blocked with sand.
Cllr Sharon Keogan said that Duleek also needed a more regular clean as the sweeper only came once a month.
