De’s can seal the deal this time round

long time coming because we didn’t have a semi-final and we’re out of the football, but we just can’t wait to get out there now.’

Knockbridge haven’t won a title since 2014, but they’ve been motoring nicely this season, winning all of their group games and defeating Sunday’s opponents in the process.

‘It’s hard to know who will be favourites. We beat them in the group but they’ve had more games and they’ll be happy with Th their performance against Moninne in the semi-final.

‘To be honest I think you can forget about the league and the group stages because this is a championship final and it’s all about whop performs on the day and who wants it the most.

‘I think it could be a cracking game, maybe even pointfor -point. They beat us off the field in 2016 so we don’t want to let anything like that happen again.’

With the CCC fixing Sunday’s clash as a standalone match, Sean isn’t sure if it’s the right call, but if they’re celebrating a championship win come Sunday evening it won’t bother him too much.

‘I’d probably prefer if it was before a football final because you get the crowd in, but hopefully supporters will come out and get behind both teams abd it’s a final at the end of the day.

‘We’d be confident because we have a bit of youth and experience this year and we’re all enjoying our hurling. But it’s not going to be easy. Fechin’s will be just as confident and it should be a good battle.’
