Dylan Keating
SEAPOINT’S Dylan Keating came from four shots behind the leader on the final day to capture golf’s Irish Boys Under-16 Championship at Castle Dargan.
The Dundalk Grammar schoolboy had a Spanish exam to contend with before making the three-hour journey to Sligo with dad Gary, but he shot 72 and 73 before saving his best until last as he carded a final-round 70 to win the title by a three-stroke margin.
Dylan, a nephew of former Boyzone star Ronan Keating, bettered that when closing with a 69 to capture the Ulster U-16 Open Championship at Donaghadee.
He also finished top of the pile in the U-16 Irish Order of Merit, represented his country when playing in the Italian International U-16 Championship and was selected for the Irish U-18 squad.
