KNOW YOUR PARISH.

The following article appeared in the Lancashire Post Newspaper in England on Saturday March 8th 1930, page 5. `A young boy who was attending sheep between Gormanstown and Ben Head, near Drogheda, yesterday, met a riderless horse and some few minutes later he discovered a young woman lying in an unconscious state on the sand dunes. The boy ran to the nearest house to summon helf and the unconscious woman was then recognised to be Mrs. Henry jameson of nearby Delvin Lodge in Gormanstown. Mrs. Jameson was removed from the sand dunes to her home and it was then discovered that she had sustained a broken leg in the fall from her horse and she was removed to a hospital in Dublin for further treatment. It was surmised that Mrs. Jameson, who is a member of the Louth Hunt, was out taking a morning canter along the sand dunes at Gormanstown when her horse stumbled and threw her heavily to the ground`.

Hearty congrats goes out to The Mairtin’s Conor Whelan on taking last week’s Championship Player of the Week award. Well done young Conor. How can you follow that, says you? Well, a Senior Championship medal would be nice for starters, says I... No pressure.
