Garda Band to feature in all star Ballsgrove concert

-

AN all-star concert featuring the Garda Band is coming up at the beautiful church of the Holy Family in Ballsgrove on Thursday October 11.

Now virtually an annual fixture at the venue, courtesy of Fr David Bradley, it promises a top-class night of music and song.

Once again, the concert will support the fund for the Drogheda branch of the Alzheimer Society in its bid to build a new daycare centre in the town.

The band of An Garda Siochana headlines the concert, with special guests, top tenor, Eugene Ginty, and star soprano, Amie Dyer, plus the Holy Family youth choir.

The Garda Band has appeared in Drogheda before, notably to support the Alzheimer cause a couple of years ago. It is one of the country’s top bands and Is much in demand all over the country.

Eugene and Amie featured together for the first time at the corresponding concert a year ago and enthralled the audience with a magnificent selection.

Now, the exciting prospect of having both on the same bill again will ensure that, as well as featuring separately, they will be singing several duets.

The Holy Family Youth Choir also made a big impression on that occasion and their reappearance will be much anticipated.

Tickets, priced at €15, are now on sale and are available at the Holy Family church. Children under-14 years of age will be admitted free.
