Consolation for Fechin’s at McCreesh blitz
KNOCKBRIDGE was the well appointed host venue for the Louth U11 McCreesh Shield Hurling Blitz which took place in Saturday afternoon.
Five teams took part in this years competition and they were Knockbridge A&B, St Fechins, Naomh Moninne and St Kevin’s/ Mattock/Glen Emmets.
The teams played each other in five rounds of group games with the top two teams playing in the ‘A’ Shield Final, with the 3rd and 4th place teams taking on each other in the ‘B’ Shield Final.
Knockbridge ‘A’ won all four of their group games to make the ‘A’ decider where they took on St Fechins but it was the holders from Termonfeckin who retained their title with a 5-2 to 0-1 victory.
St Kevin’s/Mattock/Glen Emmets captured the ‘B’ Shield title with a 3-3 to 0-1 victory Naomh Moninne in that final.
