Sister Florrie gave so much to the MMM community in her lifetime

SISTER Florrie (Florence) Goold was born in Dublin in 1928 and joined MMM in 1947. After profession she trained as a nurse. Her first assignment was to Naples, Italy, where she served for many years before returning to Drogheda to complete training in midwifery.

Assigned to Uganda in 1975, Sister Florrie worked there as a nurse for two years.

She returned to Drogheda in 1978 and worked in mission awareness and in the guest department.

In 1987, she was appointed local business administra­tor in the MMM Motherhous­e, a role in which she served for over twenty years.

She was also in MMM leadership.

In 2016 Sister Florrie moved to the nursing facility, Áras Mhuire.

She died there peacefully on 29 September 2018.
