Kicking off the month on the 5th and 6th October is Oktoberfest at The Central in Navan, where over the weekend punters can enjoy local pork products teamed with local craft beers… Prost!

Then on the 13th October gin enthusiasts can experience an afternoon distilling their own gin with Listoke Distillery, Ireland’s only gin school, which is located in Tenure.

Following on with the Boyne Valley beverages, the family behind Cooney’s Irish Cider are opening up their orchards in Kilmessan to the public for an Apple Harvest Walk on the 13th October. Visitors will get to walk through the orchards, located at the foot of the hill of Tara, with a mulled cider in hand and learn more about the orchards and this local cider.

The October bank holiday weekend is well catered for with two great events to attend.

The inaugural BRÚ Trim Traditional & Celtic Rock Festival will run for four days from Friday 26th – Monday 29th October. This festival will see some of Ireland’s best musicians come to Trim to showcase their talents alongside lots of local food and great taste trails.

Then on Sunday 28th, the hugely popular Point to Point Food & Country Fair returns to Dowth.

This celebration of racing, food and family fun will see thousands gather at the Old Racecourse in Dowth which is part of the Brú na Bóinne, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
