Nicola will help you uncover your creative side at the Barbican Centre

-

IF you want to rediscover your creative side, then join Nicola McKenna for ‘ The Artist’s Way - An Introduction’, a one-day creativity workshop in the Barbican Centre, Saturday October 13th.

This informal ‘No Skills Required’ day introduces you to concepts in Julia Cameron’s popular program for self-care and creativity, ‘ The Artist’s Way’, in an effort to make space and time for an art or craft that you want to revisit or try for the first time.

The Artist’s Way program has helped thousands of writers, artists, musicians and actors unblock their creative selves, but what about the rest of us? Nicola says “Not everyone has the time to work through 12 weeks of personal discovery, and not everyone wants to formally work in the Arts; most folks just want to take a step or two towards their chosen creative outlet. That might be poetry, painting, drawing, acting, music, writing, knitting, or any other craft. You don’t need to be an artist or a writer to attend this workshop or to do the 12-week program, it’s for everyone.”

Nicola emphasises informality to take the fuss out of creativity, “making it accessible and useful not only in enriching life, but in reducing everyday stress.”

This introductory workshop involves some easy art, a little writing, and a lot of fun. All materials are provided, and no skills are required. This one-day workshop runs from 10am to 4pm in the Barbican Centre, Drogheda on Saturday October 13th. There are 15 places and the price is €55. Tea and coffee are provided but attendees are advised to bring a packed lunch. ‘ The Artist’s Way - An Introduction’ is for adults only.
