25 years of happy kids as Playmates celebrates special silver anniversary
IT won’t be long until past pupils of a local creche will start sending their own children there!
It’s hard to believe that Playmates Montessori is celebrating 25 magical years in business and the move into the national schools has been a dream come through for owner Jackie Walshe.
“We had a very busy summer and relocating and opening a second preschool in our local St Joseph’s and Presentation national schools has been a fantastic time for all the staff parents and pupils,” she told the Drogheda Independent. “We are now six weeks in both schools and have settled into own new homes and are delighted with the way the children have adjusted into their new environments”.
Playmates first opened its doors in St Peter’s Parochial Centre, Peter Street in September 1993.
Almost a decade later, they moved to Bachelor’s Lane, where they stayed from October 2002 until their recent move to Bothar Brugha.
The theme for both schools for September was “All about me” allowing the children identify themselves and their families within the school and Playmates Montessori Presentation ended the month with a camping theme which the boys and girls loved. Now in October, both schools had great fun taking part in road safety week which was the first week of October. “The children enjoyed lots of art and role play and Playmates Montessori St Joseph’s is now working in Spells and potions while Playmates Montessori Presentation is working on the role the fire service has in our community,” she says.
